Governor Acharya Devvrat highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a resounding call, urging a minimum of 75 farmers from each gram panchayat across the nation to embrace natural farming. This powerful directive was articulated during a pivotal farmers' convention convened to commemorate the momentous occasion of the country's 75th year of Independence.

Nearly 7.13 lakh farmers in Gujarat have adopted natural farming in the last four years, according to Governor Acharya Devvrat. This is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to adopt natural farming in 75 farmers from each gram panchayat across the country.

In Gujarat, 5,233 gram panchayats now have 75 or more farmers practicing natural farming, and there are an additional 3,679 panchayats where nearly 75 farmers are practicing natural farming. This is a significant increase from the number of farmers practicing natural farming in Gujarat just a few years ago.

Governor Devvrat attributed this increase to the efforts of the state government to promote natural farming. The government has been providing training and financial assistance to farmers who want to adopt natural farming. It has also been setting up demonstration farms to showcase the benefits of natural farming.

Governor Devvrat said that natural farming is the need of the hour, as it is the only effective solution for the negative effects of global warming and declining agricultural production. He added that chemical agriculture, which was suggested as an alternative to organic agriculture, does not reduce the effort and cost, and can actually damage the environment.

The government's efforts to promote natural farming in Gujarat are a step in the right direction. Natural farming is a sustainable and effective way to produce food, and it is essential for the future of agriculture.
